This Shanty group have just celebrated their 20th anniversary with a sell-out theatre con- cert. Short Drag Roger continue to bring shanties and sea songs to the landlocked people of Oxfordshire and further afield. With their eight part harmony, they have performed at shanty and folk festivals all over the UK and Europe as well as pubs, theatres, village shows and other venues closer to home. They not only sing traditional shanties to their audiences acapella but also more modern sea songs and selfpenned numbers.

In the 20 years that SDR have been performing, they have produced some cracking CDs, and there may still be some still available if their performance inspires you to look for them — which it almost certainly will.
